As the temperatures start to climb and we get closer to July 4th, our summertime can feel very busy, moving quickly. Most families like to have downtime days where quieter activities are on the menu. Storytime, crafts and visiting farms can be fun and don't forget hats, sunscreen and hydration!

July 4th Independence Day Concert at the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum - Celebrate the 4th of July with a special performance by the United States Air Force Band's Ceremonial Brass Quintet. Frying Pan Farm Park - Kidwell Farm, Herndon, Va - Open Dawn till Dusk. 2709 West Ox Road, Herndon - Frying Pan preserves and interprets farm life of the 1920s to 1950s. A very popular park in Fairfax County! Meet draft horses, chickens, peacocks, rabbits, sheep, goats, cows and pigs at Frying Pan Farm Park's working farm of the 1930s. Take a wagon ride and watch the farm hands at work.
