Myth: The holidays are a bad time to sell your house.
False!
The holidays might be an excellent time to sell your home!
Karen Briscoe of HBC Group says she put her house on the market the day before Thanksgiving! At that time of year, there wasn’t much home inventory listed on the market to buy.
Karen’s home received multiple offers and they sold their home quickly.
Lizzy Conroy had a very similar experience when she and her husband Steve were looking for a home during the holiday season. On Christmas Eve, they went under contract with their home in McLean. Lizzy says that they were a buyer in the marketplace, ready to purchase, and a great home became available.
Karen says, “If the holiday season is a good time for you to make a move, it could be a great time for the market as well, because there is often less competition.”
Is the holiday season a good time for you to sell your home?

Another great question about selling in McLean is whether your home is a good option to sell as a home, or to sell as “lot, land.”
This is a common question that HBC Group fields regularly and they can walk you through this conversation to see what is best for the sale of your home.
Happy Holidays and let us know how we can be of service to you!
